Originally from Waas, the client wanted a home here to vist and stay in when returning from the mainland.  The house had to make the most of the spectacular seashore site and comfortably accomodate guests.

The interior rooms are arranged around an open-plan living area, which can be closed off if desired.  The sunroom at the front provides an impressive entertaining / dining area with panoramic views over the Waas voe.

Bespoke items were designed according to the brief, such as the solid oak staircase, the curved storage wall and TV and media unit, all beautifully crafted.

Natural green slate was used in the bathrooms and on the stove wall surround.  An entertainment system provides music to each room as desired.   Smart phone heating control allows the client to pre-heat the house after long periods away.

The external appearance is fragmented by the lean-to garage at the rear and guides visitors to the entrance.  Use of a narrow section lessens the appearance of the main house.

The house is orientated to the south west, looking over the sea towards the islands.  Afternoon and evening sun flood through the narrow section of the main house.

“I now have a beautiful house and a wonderful home. It incorporates everything I wanted, everything I asked for and more with lots of beautiful features - and all achieved with unfailingly good natured, patient support keeping stress to a minimum. Thank you - I am indeed fortunate!”
